Scripture describes us as the body of Christ. “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit” (1 Cor 12:12-13). It also describes us as the family of God (1 John 3:1-2). I find that the two are very similar. The family is an organism that thrives on the communication and cooperation of its members. No surprise, since the family unit was designed by God and modeled off of our own relationship with Him (Heb 1:1-4, Rom 9:8). As a church, how does this impact our relationships with each other as opposed to those with the outside world?
